Scholarship

Dear Students,
The Pembroke Arts Festival has presented the Pembroke Arts Festival Scholarship every year to a Pembroke high school senior. Now we are expanding the field to all Pembroke residents who plan to study art in the coming year.

STARTING IN 2012 WE HAVE AN ADDITONAL SCHOLARSHIP OF $500 FOR PERFORMING ARTS.
See information below.

The Pembroke Arts Festival was founded to promote and celebrate the arts in the Pembroke community. Each summer since 1967 the Pembroke Arts Festival Committee has presented one of the region’s finest outdoor art shows. For several years the festival awarded a scholarship to a graduating student from Silver Lake Regional High School, who was going on to college to further his or her education majoring in the arts. The funding for the scholarship was made possible through donations from the art show.

This year the Pembroke Arts Festival Committee is pleased to announce that it is making a $1,000 scholarship available to any Pembroke resident, who is planning to further his or her education majoring in the arts at college level or is already studying art. The recipient need not attend Pembroke High School, but must be a resident of the town. The winner of the scholarship will be announced at their school’s scholarship awards program and/or at the gala opening of the Pembroke Arts Festival. The award will be delivered upon evidence of the successful completion of the first semester of college. The eligibility requirements are enclosed with the application package.

The 2012 scholarship application form will be available at the Pembroke High School guidance department until April 13

This year the PAF Committee is pleased to announce a $500 scholarship available to a Pembroke resident who is either a graduating high school student or a college student who is majoring in one of the Performing Arts. Eligible categories include music, dance, and drama. The winner of the scholarship will be notified by mid-April, and there will be a formal announcement of the recipient at the gala opening of the Pembroke Arts Festival on Friday, August 10, 2012. The award will be delivered upon successful completion of a semester of college. The recipient will be expected to perform as an Artist-in-Action during the Festival.

Friday, April 13, 2012 is the deadline for submission of a completed 3-page application, 3-minute performance video, and official transcript from a guidance counselor. The full packet, with video, must be delivered to the Pembroke High School Guidance Office or postmarked by March 30th and mailed to:

The PAF Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications. In the event that no qualified applicants apply, or the named recipient does not meet the requirement of successful completion of the semester following the award, the funds will not be awarded. Incomplete or falsified information will invalidate the application, and all decisions of the committee are final.
