The Pembroke Arts Festival has presented the every year to a Pembroke high
school senior. Now we are expanding
the field to all Pembroke residents who plan to study art in
the coming year.
The Pembroke Arts Festival was founded to promote and celebrate the
arts in the Pembroke community. Each summer since 1967 the Pembroke
Arts Festival Committee has presented one of the region’s finest
outdoor art shows. For several years the festival awarded a scholarship
to a graduating student from Silver Lake Regional High School, who was
going on to college to further his or her education majoring in the
arts. The funding for the scholarship was made possible through donations
from the art show.
This year the Pembroke Arts Festival Committee is pleased to announce
that it is making a $1,000 scholarship available to any
Pembroke resident, who is planning to further his or her education
majoring in the arts at college level or is already studying art.
The recipient need not attend Pembroke High School, but must be
a resident of the town. The winner of the scholarship will be announced
at their school’s scholarship awards program and/or at the
gala opening of the Pembroke Arts Festival. The award will be delivered
upon evidence of the successful completion of the first semester
of college. The eligibility requirements are enclosed with the
application package.
The 2012 scholarship application
form will be available at the Pembroke High School guidance department
until April 13
