From the Co-Chairs…
The Pembroke Arts Festival
is a premier community event held under a tent during the first full
weekend each August. The Festival brings the arts, in many different
forms, to the residents of Pembroke and surrounding communities. It includes
the juried art show, young artists' gallery, continuous entertainment,
artists-in-action, craft sale, Friday night gala awards ceremony and
reception, and Saturday night concert. The Festival is open to the public
for free. We generally receive well over 1,000 visitors each year and
are proud to award an annual scholarship. The Pembroke Arts Festival
is a celebration of the arts in many, many ways.
We are proud of the generous support we receive each year. We receive help
from the local Cultural Arts Council and many area businesses. Their support
attests to the quality of the event and indeed, makes the event possible.
We are also most appreciative of the contributions of the many citizens
who volunteer, donate money, or serve on the Pembroke Arts Festival Committee.
The Committee welcomes any new members who would like to become involved.
The Festival is a work of love and dedication made possible by all of the
civic minded citizens who come together each year for the sake of art.
See you under the tent this August for a wonderful weekend!

Every year since 1968, a cadre of volunteers
has gathered to present the annual Pembroke Arts Festival. The
names and faces change over the years, but the spirit endures.
On behalf of the original board of directors, I
wish to thank the many dedicated residents who have worked to sustain
the Arts Festival over the past four decades. And, a special thank
you to the individuals and business leaders who provide the critical
financial support to continue this annual community tradition.
Sincerely,
Brooks Kelly

At 40 years old, the Pembroke Arts Festival is aging
gracefully.
Last weekend, the annual festival once again brought with
it a staggering display of local talent from Pembroke and across the South
Shore.
The art was as varied as the artists responsible. There
were watercolor, oil, and acrylic paintings of Italian landscapes and mysterious
women, screen prints of Alfred Hitchcock and Elvis Presley, and a truly astounding
variety of photography.
Artistic talent was certaiinly on display…not only under
the tent, but also on the gazebo stage on the town green.
At the rate it's going, there's a lot more great art in
the future, because The Pembroke Arts Festival is not slowing down with age.
